My Fair Lady: Part 2

Today’s #WeeklyWednesday returns us to my #NYU Master’s recital 💜🎓 for part two of my character study of Eliza Doolittle from Lerner and Loewe’s My Fair Lady! This video includes portions from Act 1, Scenes iii and v, through “Just You Wait.”

If you’ve already watched my full recital performance, I hope you enjoy revisiting it (this time, edited with two camera angles and improved audio); and if you haven’t yet seen it – thanks for watching! If you missed Part 1, you’ll find it here:

Stay tuned for the rest of My Fair Lady in the coming weeks – and check out my full recital here!

It was so fun to work on this with my incredibly talented colleague-friends! They are: Tyler Dobies as Henry Higgins; Nyla Watson as Col. Pickering; Minque Taylor as Mrs. Higgins and Costermonger; Adelle Blauser as Mrs. Pearce and Mrs. Eynesford-Hill; and Gabriel Song as Freddy Eynesford-Hill. My accompanist is the phenomenal Rachel Dean. My wonderful vocal instructor throughout my time at NYU is Matthew Shepard Smith (if you’re looking for a teacher, contact him!!) and my fantastic vocal coach is Christine Reimer. It really was such a privilege and joy to create this with you!!

Additionally, I’m so proud of everyone and grateful to you for pulling this together so quickly and with such little rehearsal time (we only had about 20 minutes to run things in the space!). It meant so very much to me to have had you join me for this particularly meaningful and degree-culminating performance 💜 I am also so grateful to the friends and family who came to support me in person and who watched online! Thank you 🙏 🙏

I learned a great deal during my time at NYU, and I would highly encourage anyone interested to audition! You can find out more about NYU Steinhardt’s Master of Music in Vocal Performance: Music Theatre here. If you have any questions, feel free to ask in the comments and I will do my best to respond in a timely manner!

This was my initial audition submission for the program:

Thank you, as always, for encouraging me and supporting my work! It means so much to me 💜
