    Announcement: Countdown ’til Christmas!

Hi, friends! My children’s Countdown ’til Christmas is now live! I’m making daily videos from Dec 1-24 with singing, reading stories, and talking about traditions from around the world. I hope this will spread a little extra cheer to a very unusual holiday season. It would mean so much if you’d share this with the children in your life! I really hope you enjoy them! The direct link to the full Countdown playlist is here: I created a new YouTube channel, Countdown ’til Christmas, for it. It would help me a great deal if you would subscribe! Subscriptions help the channel grow and others to be able to find the…

    Disneyland Christmas 2019

Happy #WeeklyWednesday! Sharing some more scenes from a very quick trip we had to Disneyland in mid-November, plus some of my music ? The Happiest Place on Earth was looking particularly magical this year! The decorations, music, special events, and seasonal foods were wonderful! I hope you’ll have the chance to go soon, but if not, I hope this video captures a sense of it and makes you smile! If you like this video, check out: On my end — my next phase officially begins today, with my first class at Georgetown (Linguistics)… In the words of Little Red, I’m feeling “excited and scared” ?  Thank you, as always, for watching! I…

A Trip to Disney’s California Adventure!

An unrelated-to-this-video note: I had my NYU Master’s recital last night and I’m so pleased with and grateful for how it went! I feel like I was able to demonstrate some of the best of my abilities and training, and it was such a privilege and pleasure to perform with my phenomenal accompanist and the other incredible artists and friends who comprised my My Fair Lady cast ??? Thank you very much to those of you who came or watched online last night!! In the coming weeks, I will be editing our video footage to share here ☺️ For this video: This isn’t exactly a vlog, but I thought I’d…

    Home (Michael Bublé cover)

Home in NYC [again] after a really great, very brief trip back to Ohio (my childhood home). It was wonderful to spend time with so many of my relatives, and I thought that message could kind of match this song [Mom, please don’t cry!] I’ve had a very transitory adulthood; I’ve created homes I’ve loved, where I would’ve been happy to remain, in many locations and cultures. As I’ve worked to carve out an individual ‘home’ and life over the last several years, I’ve found that sometimes the beauty and richness of ‘belonging’ to so many people, places, and ways of living can make it very hard to find a physical…

    New York City views

Back in the city! Our original flight a few days ago was canceled, but we made it home smoothly yesterday – and had gorgeous views of Manhattan, the Statue of Liberty, and surrounding areas coming in! Thought I’d share that with you for today’s #WeeklyWednesday ?  In case you’re hoping for a similar view when you fly in, these seats were on the port side of the plane (A, B, C), going into Newark Liberty (EWR).  The music I used is a short piece I created a couple years ago by combining sounds I found interesting – mainly loops from Logic Pro. I call it “Tangerine” (for no particular reason),…

Ship life + Performing! Is this reality?

Monday, 27 February I’m typing from a breezy cafe in Nassau.  It’s sunny and very hot outside, and two of my friends have joined me for some tea, a little chit chat… and much needed wifi 😉  I’ve been on the Disney Dream for a month and a half now and things are finally starting to feel normal!  The cruise itself is such an incredible experience for the guests – there truly is something for everyone, and I’m surprised by how many adults come on a Disney cruise without children!  My life here – though not all vacation – is certainly surreal – at times wonderful and at times crazy… …

    Niagara Falls!

Monday 21 November Holy Guacamole!Fifteen of us headed to Niagara Falls today on a chartered bus tour!  It was a lovely trip, and although the day was very cold, we had glorious sunshine.  We stopped at Niagara-on-the-Lake, a picturesque town with beautiful architecture and cute shops.  Unfortunately, we didn’t have time for it, but if I’m ever back this way, I’m going to afternoon tea at the gorgeous Prince of Wales Hotel!  Next, we headed to a nearby winery for a tasting – I would’ve preferred my tea, but I always love the experience of being in a country winery and walking through vineyards…  Ice wine is the specialty of…

Healing through Yoga // Affordable Yoga & Fitness, Paris

I’m overhauling my life. This choice was not entirely voluntary and comes with a great deal of pain; yet I feel incredibly grateful to have to the opportunity I do right now to grow.  Every day I am bombarded with new ideas and perspectives that challenge old beliefs and allow me to view the world, and myself, in a different way – to reflect and delve deeper into my being, if I only choose to allow myself to be open and vulnerable.  To be a phoenix. And yes… this is often overwhelming. Yoga is one of the “constants” I’m clinging to. The physical benefits seem minor compared to the inner peace and calm…

Pain au chocolat – Boulangerie Thevenin (6th arrondissement)

It’s hard to go wrong with breads/pastries/viennoiseries in Paris (it’s like pizza: even if you get a bad one, it’s still decent), but Boulangerie Thevenin is my current neighborhood favorite for pain au chocolat.  One HUGE flaky, buttery, chocolaty treat will run you 1,25 € – the best bang for your buck I’ve seen in the area. Conveniently located by the Saint-Placide metro (line 4) in the 6th arrondissement, it’s a great place to stop for a treat before visiting the Jardin du Luxembourg or wandering around Montparnasse 🙂 Phoenix photo credit: https://wall.alphacoders.com/big.php?i=104284 #bakery #boulangerie #food #JardinduLuxembourg #Montparnasse, #PainauChocolat #Paris #SaintPlacide #Thevenin #Viennoiserie
